MY PHOTO on the cover of RANGEFINDER MAGAZINE!!! AWWW!!!

A while ago I submitted one of my photos into a contest for the cover of Rangefinder Magazine. FYI- for those of you who do not know what Rangefinder magazine is- it is like the "In Style," magazine in the photography world! It was a photo of my darling little DeBoer boy cousins on their dairy! Aren't they so Handsome? Anyways about a week ago they asked me for a larger size of my image- which got me a little excited but not too excited... And this afternoon they informed me that I WON! My photo will be on the cover of the July 2008 Rangefinder magazine and I will recieve a new nikon d300 (too bad I am canon, guess I am going to have to learn!) My photo will also be showcased at the WPPI photography convention in Las Vegas, I can't wait to go! Along with the cover there will be a small 1 page mini-bio on me and my business in the magazine as well! Who would have thought? I haven't even been doing this for a year and look at how the Lord has blessed me! I am very excited and wanted to share my good news with all my friends and family! I will let you know when it goes to print! Until then.... enjoy the summer!

Don't Panic, it's Organic!

Here are a few of the first shots I got of the all organic Barefoot Dreams - Women. Recognize the model? It's my gorgeous friend, Courtney Smith. They loved her so much they even sent me more clothes for her to model after they saw the first session with her! What was a mini photo shoot turned into a 4 day event featuring almost the entire line! I have oh so many photos to edit... so stay tuned, many more to come! 

Barefoot Dreams....

Thank you to all of you who helped out with the Barefoot Dreams Session, and thank you also to all of you who offered your sweet, sweet babies. It was a hit, so many precious photos. Check them out on the blog over the next few weeks!

CVC Career Day...

This week I was asked to speak at CVC Career Day! It was so fun, what a great group of Jr. Higher's they have over there! A few aspiring photographers as well,who I can't wait to teach! I love Antique shopping....

Whenever I go antique shopping I am inspired, I love it. I have recently been trying to establish a small trademark for Schaap Studios with all the "Fun," photos sessions I have been having with the latest treasures I have found there, especially all the great hats! (Check out my website for more information on "FUN" sessions.) So here are a few shots to give you an idea of what I love to shoot. (...I love shooting shoes too, what can I say I am a girl!) Enjoy!

Everything Old is New Again...

It was a fun day for Georgia last week, I just love these little sandals my mom got for her, I used to wear them when I was little and my mom found them again for Georgia! I just love when "Everything old is new again!"

I did it! I am graduating in a couple weeks and I am so excited about it. I just got these announcements in the mail 5 minutes ago and I can't wait to celebrate my good news with everyone! (Summa Cum Laude too, not to shabby!)

This year they wanted to run his car in an ad in the Goodguys magazine, for you hot rod junkies this is a pretty cool magazine, and this year they asked me to take the photo! Here are a couple of the first ones I got in his shop. Cars are not my typical subject. However, it doesn't matter what I am shooting, as long as I get to look through the lens, I am inspired! So, I am home from my quick trip to WPPI in Las Vegas, was able to have a Fabulous dinner with some photography buddies at one of my best kept secret in town, and walk the trade show, it was amazing. I came home with an abundance of knowledge, and so excited to get the wheels rolling again.

I'm Back!

Hello everyone! I have had many requests for my daily postings this week, I am very sorry I haven't been consistant to all of you regulars, I have been very busy with work. And like all of you, I miss my daily bible verses too! So, I will try to be a little bit better this week. My husband and I went to the beach this weekend, and I am sure many of you have seen it, but right before you get to Paso Robles there is this deserted mission, or church nestled between the hills, it is eye-catching. So, this time we turned off to go see it. It was a very dark, cloudy afternoon and it was a surreal experience, we were the only ones out there. It was one of those moments you could really feel God's presence. If you are ever on your way to the coast I suggest checking it out. Its quite beautiful, anyways.... here are some photos I was able to get, I was so sad I didn't bring my tripod- next time!

Well since its almost tomorrow and seeing as Sunday mornings are usually very hectic at our house, I decided to post today's verse about 15 minutes early.....May these words be with you throughout the day...

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard all your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:6-7
