A while ago I submitted one of my photos into a contest for the cover of Rangefinder Magazine. FYI- for those of you who do not know what Rangefinder magazine is- it is like the "In Style," magazine in the photography world! It was a photo of my darling little DeBoer boy cousins on their dairy! Aren't they so Handsome? Anyways about a week ago they asked me for a larger size of my image- which got me a little excited but not too excited... And this afternoon they informed me that I WON! My photo will be on the cover of the July 2008 Rangefinder magazine and I will recieve a new nikon d300 (too bad I am canon, guess I am going to have to learn!) My photo will also be showcased at the WPPI photography convention in Las Vegas, I can't wait to go! Along with the cover there will be a small 1 page mini-bio on me and my business in the magazine as well! Who would have thought? I haven't even been doing this for a year and look at how the Lord has blessed me! I am very excited and wanted to share my good news with all my friends and family! I will let you know when it goes to print! Until then.... enjoy the summer!

Here are a few of the first shots I got of the all organic Barefoot Dreams - Women. Recognize the model? It's my gorgeous friend, Courtney Smith. They loved her so much they even sent me more clothes for her to model after they saw the first session with her! What was a mini photo shoot turned into a 4 day event featuring almost the entire line! I have oh so many photos to edit... so stay tuned, many more to come!

Thank you to all of you who helped out with the Barefoot Dreams Session, and thank you also to all of you who offered your sweet, sweet babies. It was a hit, so many precious photos. Check them out on the blog over the next few weeks!

DISCOUNT PHOTO SESSION *** I got so many inquiries and wasn't able to invite everybody so I am wondering if I should have a baby "In-Studio," day with some of my barefoot dreams blankets (I have quite a few!) If any Mom's are intrested let me know, and I will nail down a date. The session fee will only be $100.00~ thats $75.00 off the regular price!

CVC Career Day...

This week I was asked to speak at CVC Career Day! It was so fun, what a great group of Jr. Higher's they have over there! A few aspiring photographers as well,who I can't wait to teach! Here are a few photos I was able to sneak in between talks, enjoy. (Props to Mr. Hiemstra and Mr. Elsenbroek for snapping the photos!)

I have recently been trying to establish a small trademark for Schaap Studios with all the "Fun," photos sessions I have been having with the latest treasures I have found there, especially all the great hats!
